Sanara Mental Health Internship Program

Where your clinical journey begins — and continues to grow.

Graduate counseling interns and mentors in a supportive training session.

At Sanara Mental Health, we’re passionate about developing future clinicians who share our commitment to compassionate, client-centered care. Our internship program offers graduate students an opportunity to learn, grow, and build a long-term professional path within our practice.

We believe great therapists are nurtured — not just trained. That’s why our program focuses on skill development, mentorship, and ongoing support, with a goal of helping you transition from intern to clinician within the Sanara team.

Why Intern at Sanara Mental Health?

A Supportive, Growth-Oriented Environment

Interns at Sanara are welcomed as an integral part of our clinical community. You’ll receive individual and group supervision from experienced licensed therapists and have access to clinical consultation, team meetings, and mentorship from leadership.

Our environment emphasizes collaboration, inclusion, and ongoing learning — creating a foundation for your long-term growth within our organization.

Hands-On Clinical Experience

Interns work directly with clients under supervision, providing individual, couples, and family therapy. You’ll gain experience in intake and assessment, treatment planning, case documentation, and the use of evidence-based interventions while working with diverse clients and presenting concerns.

Training & Skill Development

As an intern, you’ll have opportunities to expand your clinical knowledge through hands-on training, case consultation, and supervision that integrates a range of evidence-based modalities. Our training includes exposure to cognitive-behavioral and dialectical-behavioral frameworks, trauma-informed approaches such as EMDR, mindfulness-based practices, and family systems work. Throughout your time at Sanara, you’ll deepen your understanding of how to integrate these approaches effectively while developing your own therapeutic style within a supportive environment.

You’ll also gain valuable insight into the operational side of private practice — learning about clinical documentation, client management, and ethical and professional standards that ensure quality care and sustainable practice growth.
